New WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard bonus offer
So what is this new bonus? The previous offer for the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard was up to 450 WestJet dollars. That's now been increased by 55% to 700 WestJet dollars. Here's how you'll earn them.
- First, you'll get 300 WestJet dollars once you get approved for your card.
- Spend $5,000 in the first 3 months (or $1,667 per month) and you'll get another 300 WestJet dollars.
- Finally, renew your card for a second year and you'll earn another 100 WestJet dollars.
This offer ends on March 14, 2024.
And there's one more bonus that's available to this and all premium RBC credit cards. With your new RBC credit card comes 12 free months of DoorDash Dash Pass. That's a savings of $119.88 ($9.99 per month).
What the WestJet RBC World Elite Mastercard offers
If you're a WestJetter and want to get WestJet dollars everywhere, here's what this card offers.
First, this is what you'll earn back for WestJet dollars on all your purchases:
- 2% in WestJet dollars on WestJet purchases, and
- 1.5% back in WestJet dollars on all other purchases.
Based on spending $2,000 per month, you're looking at earning 366 WestJet dollars per year. You can use WestJet dollars towards flights on WestJet, with a few of their partners like Delta, KLM, and Air France, and WestJet Vacation packages.
There are 2 major WestJet credit card benefits. The biggest is the annual companion voucher. Every year you have the card, buy a ticket for yourself, and you'll pay a reduced price for a second ticket. All you pay are the taxes plus a set fee which varies based on where you're going:
- $119 within Canada and to the Continental U.S., and
- $399 anywhere else.
The other benefit is you'll get free checked bags. You'll get the first checked bag free for yourself and 6 others travelling on the same reservation. And in case you haven't heard, WestJet is about to start increasing their fees on checked bags, making this perk even more valuable.
