Mastercards now have free Boingo Wi-Fi
It appears that all Mastercards now come with free Boingo Wi-Fi.
How can you check if your Mastercard provides it? Surprisingly, most Mastercard issuers in Canada don’t advertise that this is available to their members.
But luckily, there’s an easy way to find out for yourself. Simply head to this Boingo page, and enter your 16 digit Mastercard number, and you’ll be told if your card is eligible.
If it is, you’ll be able to register for your free account right there as well.
Which Mastercards are eligible?
Here at the creditcardGenius team, we’ve tested Mastercards from various issuers.
Here are the issuers and the type of Mastercard (basic, World, World Elite) that were able to register for free Boingo Wi-Fi.
This table also includes cards verified by our users to be eligible.

If you have a card from another issuer and were able to get access to Boingo for free, let us know in the comments below, and we’ll keep adding to this table. Just let us know the issuer and what type of Mastercard you have.
Just note – if you already have a paid Boingo account, it won’t be cancelled automatically. You’ll have to do that yourself after you’ve set up your free account from Mastercard.
If this perk interest you and you don’t have a Mastercard, you can find out top ones right here.
What is Boingo Wi-Fi?
New to Boingo Wi-Fi?
Boingo provides over 1 million Wi-Fi hotspots around the world. To connect, you simply need to have an account set up, connect to the Boingo network in your settings, open a browser, and provide your user name and password to access the network.
So instead of having to pay for or use your data, you can simply connect to Wi-Fi when you’re on the go. This can be especially handy if you’re travelling outside the country (something we’re currently not doing, but we will be in the future), letting you avoid those hefty roaming fees.
There are a few hotspots in Canada, but the overall number is limited.
One last thing, if an airline is equipped with Boingo Wi-Fi, you’ll also be able to connect while you’re in the air. Just note that none of Canada’s airlines currently use Boingo Wi-Fi.
Finding Boing hotspots
How can you find a Boingo hotspot?
The easiest way is to head to this site. Simply enter where you are or where you may be travelling to. You’ll be able to see where Boingo Wi-fi hotspots are available to connect.
You can also use their mobile app to locate hotspots near you.
