If you’ve been on the fence about getting one of Canada’s best Visa credit cards, don’t overlook the Visa Infinite Dining Series, a major foodie benefit.

The Visa Infinite Dining Series publishes a limited calendar of exclusive dining events at just a handful of fine-dining restaurants in Canada.

Each event includes a coursed meal with paired cocktails and a personal chef experience. Since seating is incredibly limited, these opportunities are only available to Visa Infinite and Visa Infinite Privilege cardholders. We’ll explain more about what you can expect from a dining event and recommend credit cards that have this benefit.

Key Takeaways

  • Visa Infinite and Infinite Privilege cardholders can book unique one-time dining experiences at select fine-dining restaurants in North America.
  • Events typically cost a few hundred dollars and don’t include taxes.
  • Outside of events, cardholders can also score hard-to-get reservations at restaurants across the country through the OpenTable booking platform.

What is the Visa Infinite Dining Series?

When you think of credit card benefits, American Express cards might spring to mind, especially Amex Experiences. Fortunately, Visa offers its version of exclusive dining and entertainment experiences through the Visa Infinite Dining Series.

Visa Infinite and Infinite Privilege cardholders can book reservations at highly sought-after restaurants with star-powered chefs. These are 1- or 2-day events that are only offered at select venues.

How does the Visa Infinite Dining Series work?

Each season, Visa publishes its Infinite Dining Series, a calendar of exclusive dining opportunities at a handful of fine-dining restaurants in North America. If you have a Visa Infinite or Visa Infinite Privilege card, you can use your card to book reservations. Each Infinite Dining Series event includes:

  • A multi-course meal
  • Wine or cocktail pairings
  • An experience with renowned chefs, sommeliers, and mixologists

Example event: Rouge, Calgary, April 1 and 2, 2026

For $275 per person (plus tax), you can enjoy canapes, a multi-course meal, and a wine or cocktail pairing prepared by top Canadian chefs at Rouge Restaurant at historic Cross House. The food is garden-fresh, French-inspired cuisine, and you can enjoy your evening admiring the gardens, architecture, and, of course, the food. This event lasts from 3 to 4 hours.

  • Meal prepared by star chefs Michael Smith and Bill Pratt
  • Emphasis is on hyper-local regional ingredients
  • Food is paired with Tequila Herradura and Woodford Reserve-inspired cocktails

Visa Dining Series eligibility

If you take a look at your Visa card, you’ll see the word "Visa" in the bottom right corner. Below that, you may see “Visa Infinite” or “Visa Infinite Privilege.”

If your card is a Visa Infinite or Infinite Privilege, congratulations! You can book events through the Infinite Dining Series. The only requirement is that you use your qualifying Visa card to pay for the event.

Unfortunately, Visa’s entry-level credit cards do not qualify.

The Visa Dining Collection OpenTable Benefit

The Infinite Dining Series features few dining events, so it’s easy to overlook the many fantastic fine-dining options across the country. Fortunately, the OpenTable benefit addresses this.

Visa Infinite and Infinite Privilege cardholders can link their credit cards to the OpenTable restaurant booking platform. When you do this, you can make reservations at restaurants that quickly book up in advance. The OpenTable benefit gives wider access to prime-time reservations, so you’re more likely to get a seat at the table.

OpenTable specifically offers reservations for restaurants in Toronto, Calgary, Vancouver, and Montreal.

Pros and cons of the Visa Infinite Dining Series

The Visa Infinite Dining Series is one of the big attractions of premium Visa cards, but it has a few drawbacks to keep in mind.

Pros:

  • You’ll enjoy exclusive menus. Get the opportunity to experience chef collaborations, try limited-time tasting menus, sit at the counter while a chef prepares your meal, or try new dishes at exciting restaurants.
  • Sample the best of gourmet restaurants. The Dining Series highlights select restaurants that have earned Michelin stars, allowing you to sample from fixed menus and enjoy wine or drink pairings.
  • You can book priority reservations. Many of the Visa Dining Series participants book out months in advance, so using this card feature might be the only way you can snag a reservation.
  • Opportunities change throughout the year. Just because you don’t see an event that tickles your taste buds doesn’t mean you can’t use the program. Check back every few months as events and menus are updated throughout the year.
  • No additional subscription or membership is required. While you do have to pay for the meals you sign up for, you don’t have to pay any fees to access the Visa Infinite Dining Series.

Cons:

  • Eligible credit cards have high income requirements. Most Visa Infinite cards ask for $60,000 in personal or $100,000 household income, while the Visa Infinite Privilege cards typically require around $200,000 annual income.
  • You need a great credit score to qualify for a card. There’s a bit more wiggle room when it comes to credit score requirements, but you’ll need a score of at least 660 for most of the qualifying Visa cards.
  • Your options are largely limited by geography. Cardholders who aren’t living in or visiting the select metro areas will find there aren’t any opportunities to use the Dining Series. And some provinces don’t have any Visa Dining options at all.

Even though the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card is a great mid-level credit card, we wanted to include a premium Aeroplan card. The TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Credit Card does have a much higher annual fee, but the welcome bonus and annual rewards more than cover the cost. You’ll earn enhanced rewards not just for Air Canada purchases, but also for dining. So, not only can you access the Dining Series, but you’ll get 1.5x the Aeroplan points for your reservations.

Frequent Air Canada travellers will really want to consider this Aeroplan card, since it gives unlimited Maple Leaf Lounge access, an annual companion voucher if you spend at least $25,000 a year, and even more insurance coverage than the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card.

We wanted to include a straightforward cash back credit card that gives you Infinite Dining Series access, so we selected the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite Card. Like other Visa Infinite cards, there is an annual fee, but Scotiabank waives it if you have a Scotiabank Ultimate Package.

Although there’s no increased cash back rate for restaurants, the card gives between 1% and 4% back on purchases. To get you started, you’ll earn a 10% cash back welcome bonus for the purchases you make in the first 3 months of having the card.
