TD has decided to provide us with our first credit card changes of the year, and they take effect on April 30, 2025.
In summary, TD's credit cards are getting some new bonus categories – and, with one card, a new major perk. In exchange, TD is slightly increasing interest rates and implementing a few other minor fee changes. If you don’t carry a balance on your credit cards, these are all positive changes for you!

TD Rewards credit card changes
All TD Rewards cards are getting new earn rates on public transit, streaming, digital gaming, and media purchases. The TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card is also offering a new perk.
To get these new rates (and perk), TD is slightly increasing your interest rates with these cards. Your purchase interest rate will increase to 21.99%. If you live in Quebec, your cash advance interest rate will increase to 21.99% instead. There are also a few other minor fee changes – some for better and others for worse.
But to the good stuff. Here are the new earn rates for all 3 TD Rewards cards. Note that all of them have an accompanying annual spend cap. Once it's reached, you'll earn the card's base earn rate.
| TD Rewards card | New earn rates | Annual spend cap |
|---|---|---|
| TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card | * 6 points per $1 spent on public transit * 4 points per $1 spent on streaming, digital gaming, and media purchases | * $25,000 on public transit * $25,000 on others which is combined with the existing bills category |
| TD Platinum Travel Visa Card | * 4.5 points per $1 spent on public transit * 3 points per $1 spent on streaming, digital gaming, and media purchases | * $15,000 on public transit * $15,000 on others which is combined with the existing bills category |
| TD Rewards Visa Card | * 3 points per $1 spent on public transit * 2 points per $1 spent on streaming, digital gaming, and media purchases | * $5,000 on public transit * $5,000 on others which is combined with the existing bills category |
Finally, the big perk with the TD First Class Travel Visa Infinite Card that we’ve been mentioning: Visa Airport Companion Membership with 4 free passes. Considering all you have to give up in exchange is a slightly higher interest rate, this add-on feels like a big win.

TD Aeroplan credit cards
Aeroplan credit cards issued by TD are getting some smaller changes.
Like TD Rewards cards, the interest rates are slightly increasing. Purchase rates will go up to 21.99% unless you live in Quebec, where the cash advance rate will increase to 21.99%.
These Aeroplan cards will be getting a new EV charging rate. This rate will be folded into the existing bonus earn rate and will be part of the annual spend cap.
| TD Aeroplan card | New EV earn rate |
|---|---|
| TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card | 1.5 points per $1 spent on EV charging |
| TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Privilege Credit Card | 1.5 points per $1 spent on EV charging |
| TD Aeroplan Visa Platinum Card | 1 point per $1 spent on EV charging |
TD Cash Back credit cards
Both of TD's cash back cards are seeing a bevy of new categories earning bonus rewards.
Like the other changes, you’ll pay more interest on balances in exchange for these new earn rates – 21.99% on purchases, or 21.99% on cash advances for Quebec residents.
| TD Cash Back card | New earn rates | Annual spend cap |
|---|---|---|
| TD Cash Back Visa Infinite Card | * 3% cash back on public transit * 3% cash back on EV charging * 3% cash back on streaming, digital gaming, and media purchases | * $15,000 on public transit * $15,000 on EV charging which is combined with the existing gas category * $15,000 on the others which is combined with the existing bills category |
| TD Cash Back Visa Card | * 1% cash back on public transit * 1% cash back on EV charging * 1% cash back on streaming, digital gaming, and media purchases | * $5,000 on public transit * $5,000 on EV charging which is combined with the existing gas category * $5,000 on the others which is combined with the existing bills category |
