Plaza Premium Lounges Can Be Accessed Again With Select Visa Credit Cards

Earlier this year, we learned that Plaza Premium lounges were being dropped by Priority Pass and LoungeKey.

For many credit cards, that means these lounges couldn’t be accessed anymore through the program.

And while it may not seem like much, Plaza Premium Lounges operated many lounges in airports across Canada, leaving us with few options.

But some news has come our way to start changing it around.

Select Visa credit cards have regained access to Plaza Premium Lounges

Thanks to a new partnership with Dragon Pass, many Visa credit cards that include lounge access will now be able to access Plaza Premium Lounges again.

It’s only temporary until June 2022, but at least you can access them again for the time being. Hopefully Plaza Premium will be able to work out a more permanent solution soon.

There’s quite a few Visa credit cards that are part of this. It includes all Visa Infinite Privilege cards (like the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Privilege^* Card), and these other personal Visa cards:

In particular, we’ll spotlight the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Card.

This card offers 6 free passes to airport lounges per year. On top of that, it also earns up to 2 Scotia Rewards points per $1 spent, charges no foreign exchange fees, and includes 11 types of insurance coverage.

Mastercard Airport Experiences

So that’s good news if you have a Visa card with lounge access, but not if you have a Mastercard.

You’re still out of luck right now if you want to access a Plaza Premium Lounge with a membership in Mastercard Airport Experiences.

Hopefully, things will change soon in this regard too.

And remember, this news doesn’t apply to the American Express Platinum^® Card. You’ve always been able to access Plaza Premium Lounges, as the Amex Global Lounge Collection is the program used to access Plaza Premium Lounges, not Priority Pass.

Pls let me know which credit card commonly use in Malaysia can be excepted free extrance using the premium lounge (without charge for the buffet ) I m thinking to apply one ,thanks

I am an Amex Platinum Card holder through which I received a Priority Pass membership. I have never heard of Amex Global Lounge Collection. I clearly need enlightenment..... yes please.
