Earlier this month, they gave new welcome bonuses to their Aeroplan and Marriott card lineups.
And now, some updates have come to a couple of their Membership Rewards cards.

New offers for the Amex Gold and Platinum cards

Amex Gold Rewards
Let’s start with the Amex Gold Rewards card.
The new welcome bonus has 2 parts. First, when you spend $3,000 in your first 3 months, you’ll earn 50,000 bonus points.
And in your first 6 months, you’ll earn 10 points per $1 spent on travel, up to 20,000 points earned ($2,000 in spend).
Put together, those 70,000 points are worth up to $1,400 – an incredible value you can reap.

Amex Platinum Card
The super-premium Amex Platinum card has a new welcome bonus of its own.
Spend $6,000 in your first 3 months, and you’ll earn 90,000 bonus points.
And like the Gold card, you’ll earn 10 points per $1 spent on travel for the first 6 months, up to a maximum of 20,000 points earned.
All together, those 110,000 points are worth up to $2,200 – one of the best sign-up bonuses you can earn.

Amex Gold Rewards card details
Even though it doesn’t earn Aeroplan points directly, the Amex Gold Rewards card is one of our best Aeroplan cards, as you can transfer your Amex Membership Rewards points 1:1 to Aeroplan.
What makes it one of the best? It starts with these high earn rates:
- 2 points per $1 spent on gas, groceries, drugstores, and travel, and
- 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.

- 4 free passes to Plaza Premium lounges in Canada, and

For the best perks credit card you can get – look no further, the Amex Platinum card is here.
First, here’s what you’ll earn for rewards on your purchases:
- 3 points per $1 spent on restaurants,
- 2 points per $1 spent on travel, and
- 1 point per $1 spent on everything else.
But this card is about so much more than rewards. The list of perks included is long.
Here’s a taste of what it offers:
- $200 annual travel credit,
- automatic gold status with Hilton Honors and Marriott Bonvoy,
- unlimited airport lounge access for the cardholder and a guest at over 1,300 airport lounges,
- International Airline Program, for discounts on premium airline seats, and
- Amex Fine Hotels and Resorts, where you can get savings of up to $550 on hotel stays.
The catch? The annual fee is a whopping $699. Whether it’s worth it or not is up to you.
