All 3 Amex Aeroplan cards have sweet new offers to give you plenty of bonus rewards, especially if you’re planning a trip on Air Canada in the near future.

American Express Aeroplan
Let’s start with American Express’ entry level Aeroplan card – the
The new offer can get you up to 60,000 Aeroplan points:
- 15,000 points after spending $1,500 in the first 3 months,
- 2,500 points every month you spend $500 in the first year, and
- 5x the points on Air Canada purchases in the first 6 months, up to 15,000 points earned.
Just by spending $500 per month in the first year, you can earn 45,000 bonus Aeroplan points.
And if you’re planning a trip soon, you can earn 5x the points on Air Canada flights and packages through Air Canada Vacations.
All together, if you max out the full value, that’s 60,000 Aeroplan points you can use towards a future trip.
As for rewards on purchases, you’ll earn:
- 2 points per $1 spent on Air Canada,
- 1.5 points per $1 spent on dining, and
- 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
You’ll also get a couple of Air Canada benefits – the first free checked bag for yourself and 8 others travelling on the same reservation, and the ability to get Elite Status through spending.
All for an annual fee of $120.
American Express Aeroplan Reserve
Next up we have Amex’s premium Aeroplan offering – the
It’s offering an increased welcome bonus of up to 110,000 Aeroplan points:
- 20,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months,
- 5,000 points every month you spend $1,000 in the first year, and
- 10x the points on Air Canada purchases in the first 6 months, up to 30,000 points earned.
Put together, those 110,000 points are worth up to an incredible $2,200.
What will you earn on your purchases? Here are the earn rates for this credit card:
- 3 points per $1 spent on Air Canada,
- 2 points per $1 spent on dining, and
- 1.25 points per $1 spent on all other purchases.
And it’s got a long list of Air Canada benefits, a few of which include:
- free first checked bag,
- annual companion voucher when you spend $25,000 annually,
- Priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling, and
- Maple Leaf lounge access.
One point to note – the card has a high annual fee of $599. So make sure you’ll be able to take full advantage of everything this card has to offer if you get it.
American Express Aeroplan Business Reserve
If you’re in need of a business credit card, the

- 10x the points on Air Canada purchases, hotels, and car rentals in the first 6 months, up to 30,000 points earned.
As for earning rates? Again, similar to the Reserve Card, but slightly different:
- 3 points per $1 spent on Air Canada,
- 2 points per $1 spent on hotels and rental cars, and
- 1.25 points per $1 spent on all other purchases.
It does have all the same Air Canada benefits, like free checked bags and Maple Leaf lounge access.
It also shares the same annual fee at $599.
