Earn 65,000 bonus points and get a $100 statement credit
Amex has increased the points offered on the Marriott Bonvoy card.
Previously, it offered 50,000 points after spending $1,500 in 3 months.
For that same level of spend, you’ll now get 65,000 bonus points, as well as a $100 statement credit.
So how many free nights is that? Using standard redemption rates, here’s how many free nights you can get for the various Marriott property categories.
| Category | Points For 1 Night | Number Of Free Nights |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 12,500 | 5 |
| 3 | 17,500 | 3 |
| 4 | 25,000 | 2 |
| 5 | 35,000 | 1 |
| 6 | 50,000 | 1 |
| 7 | 60,000 | 1 |
Depending on the category, that’s quite a few free nights, with some of them still leaving you with plenty of points afterwards. And you’re still getting a free $100 on top of this.
Our estimated value? Based on a Marriott Bonvoy point being worth 0.97 cents, we value the new offer at $731.
So, if you’re heading out on a road trip and want some nights for nothing, this offer will help you do just that.
All about the Amex Marriott Bonvoy card
On top of the terrific welcome bonus, what else does this credit card provide?
First, here’s what you’ll earn for points on all your purchases:
- 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott properties, and
- 2 points per $1 spent everywhere else.
Based on a typical $2,000 monthly spend, you’re looking at around 51,600 points per year, enough for a few free nights, depending on a hotel’s category.
But there’s more. Every year on your card’s anniversary, you’ll earn a free night certificate worth up to 35,000 points, which more than offsets the $120 annual fee.
On top of that, you’ll receive Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status, and get 15 elite night credits every year.
What did we tell you? The free nights add up quickly with this card.
Your turn
Amex and Marriott have a pretty sweet deal that will get you plenty of free nights every year you have the card.
