Accuracy is important to us so this article has gone through a thorough 3-stage review process and fact-checked by our team.

Much like the TD First Class Travel® Visa Infinite* Card, the TD Platinum Travel Visa* Card wants to put travel at your fingertips.

One really nice difference about this card, however, is that the annual fee is lower for the primary cardholder at $89 (rebated for the first year for a limited time) and $35 for authorized users, and there is no minimum income requirement.

Earning and redeeming your rewards

On your spending, this card will give you:

  • 6 points per $1 spent on travel booked online through Expedia For TD
  • 4.5 points per $1 spent on groceries, restaurants, and public transit
  • 3 points per $1 spent on recurring bill payments, streaming, digital gaming, and media
  • 1.5 points per $1 spent on all other purchases

And as a welcome bonus, you'll enjoy 50,000 points which you'll earn as such:

  • 15,000 points after your first purchase, and
  • 35,000 points when you spend $1,000 in the first 90 days.

These points never expire and can be used in so many different ways, like:

  • any flight or travel package,
  • for gift cards,
  • merchandise, or
  • even as a statement credit.

The best way to use your points, however, is through Expedia For TD, where 200 points = $1 of travel. Simply log in to your account, choose the travel you want to book, and use your points at checkout. You can use as few or as many points as you like (minimum redemption of 200 points).

Curious about the TD Rewards program? Be sure to check out our detailed review.

Travel perks and benefits

On top of valuable rewards, you'll get to enjoy a fairly good insurance package that includes 9 different types of insurance like:

  • travel accident insurance,
  • baggage delay and theft, plus
  • you'll know your purchases are covered by purchase protection, and
  • extended warranty.

If you want a premium travel Visa without the minimum income required by most (and a lower fee) – this card could be it.

Looking for a card with no annual fee?

If you don't spend enough to justify an annual fee, or you're looking for a no fee card to pair with one of your premium credit cards, the TD Rewards Visa* Card could be a good option.

It allows you to earn TD Rewards points while paying no annual fee.

Key benefits

  • Earn up to $370 in value, including up to 50,000 TD Rewards Points and no annual fee for the first year. Conditions apply. Offer effective as of January 7, 2025.
    • Welcome Bonus of 15,000 TD Rewards Points when you make your first Purchase with your Card.
    • 35,000 TD Rewards Points when you spend $1,000 within 90 days of Account opening.
  • Get an annual fee rebate for the first year.

I may cancel it as Travel cancellation is NOT included and not even mentioned as a "be aware must know " caution . Most would assume it is included as in the First Class card. It is not a good card since an additional card for your spouse is $35.

No Lounge Passes are included or offered as a perk

If you travel there are other cards for a few dollars more with the perks included.

Worst card ever. I would never recommend this card to anyone. $89.00 annual fees and lots of other secret charges. Do not recommend !
