What is Web Perspectives?

Web Perspectives is a market research platform that started in 2004, offering online surveys to members in exchange for rewards.

Unlike survey platforms like Survey Junkie, which pay out in cash, Web Perspectives gives members reward points. These can be redeemed for a few different things:

  • Virtual gift cards
  • Virtual prepaid cards
  • Partner rewards
  • Charitable donations

Some redemption options cost more than others, but if you spend your points wisely, you can count on a value of 1 cent per point (1 CPP).

How to sign up for Web Perspectives

To sign up for Web Perspectives, you simply head to the registration page and fill out a short form with your contact details:

  • Name
  • Address
  • Age
  • Gender

Create a password and agree to the terms and conditions to complete the sign-up.

According to their terms and conditions, you need to be 18 years or older and reside in Canada to open an account. The site does say that they may ask for the opinion of minors, but only with parental consent.

How to earn with Web Perspectives surveys

Once you create your account and fill in some pre-survey questions, you'll have access to different Web Perspectives surveys.

Each survey is individually "priced," offering various amounts of reward points for your participation.

On the surface, Web Perspectives may sound like easy free money – and it can be. But make sure you understand exactly what you'll earn for your time before you get too excited. In the following sections, we've broken down exactly what you can expect to earn – and how much this is worth in cash.

How much can you earn with Web Perspectives surveys?

In our experience, most Web Perspectives surveys earn 50 points (or $0.50) each, though higher-value surveys are sometimes available.

While Web Perspectives promotes surveys worth up to 500 points each, the highest-value survey we see available right now only gives you 150 points, which is worth $1.50 or less, depending on how you cash it out.

A selection of surveys available on Web Perspectives, ranging from 50 to 150 points. Most surveys award 50 points.

Most surveys take 5 – 20 minutes to complete. The length of the survey doesn't necessarily correspond directly to the size of the reward. For example, we currently have the option to complete one 20-minute survey for 150 points and another 20-minute survey for only 50 points.

For new members, there's also an extra challenge you can join – complete 3 surveys in 7 days, and you'll get an extra 100 points. You'll also get $0.50 toward your first reward when you fill out your introductory profile.

Web Perspectives Notifications

So how much can you really earn? It depends on how much time you're willing to dedicate and whether you get lucky enough to catch high-value surveys.

Here's a quick breakdown to help you understand how much money you could earn from Web Perspectives:

  • Let's say you spend 1 hour completing 6 10-minute surveys for 50 points each.
  • 6 x 50 = 300 points
  • You'll still need 700 more points to cash in for a reward. And this makes your survey completion time worth about $3 CAD.

If you have plenty of time on your hands and you enjoy filling out surveys, this can be an easy way to score some extra cash. But be ready to spend a fair amount of time on surveys before you receive your first voucher.

Web Perspectives offers

Web Perspectives also has special offers worth more points than surveys. But still proceed with caution and factor in the value of your time. Some offers require minimum purchases or signing up for free trials of services that will cost you money once the trial runs out.

Web Perspectives rewards

There are no cash-based payout options available with Web Perspectives. You'll be compensated with gift vouchers instead. You also have the option to transfer your points to certain popular reward programs, like Blue Rewards, or make a $10 charitable donation.

The available gift cards and redemption options change occasionally, so you should check the rewards tab regularly to see what reward opportunities have been added. At the time of writing, there are 10 available:

  • Amazon
  • Blue Rewards
  • Cineplex
  • Golf Town
  • Indigo
  • Tim Hortons
  • Uber
  • Ultimate Dining Card
  • UNICEF donation
  • Visa prepaid cards

Be aware that the gift card options are e-gift cards. They'll be delivered virtually – you won't receive physical cards in the mail.

When you reach 1,000 – 1,200 points, you can redeem for several $10 e-gift cards, or you can save up for $20 or $50 e-gift cards.

Of course, getting $10 at Tim Hortons for 1,000 points gives you more value than getting $10 at Amazon for 1,200 points, so consider which vouchers you're most likely to use and choose the one that costs the fewest points.

Web Perspectives redemption options include various e-gift cards to businesses like Tim Hortons, Amazon, and Uber.

We don't recommend transferring to Blue Rewards, as you'll only get 800 Blue Rewards points for 1,250 Web Perspectives points. With Blue Rewards points worth 0.7 cents each, this leaves you with only $7 in value.

Web Perspectives badges

If you've made an account, you'll notice that you can earn badges and "level up" your profile as you go. You can do this by completing your profile, taking surveys, and earning rewards.

Web Perspectives Badges

Earning badges allows you to unlock bonus rewards on top of what you already earn for each survey. They're based on your "lifetime earnings", which is just the number of surveys you've done and the bonuses you've earned during your entire time as a member.

The more lifetime earnings you have, the higher your badge. And as your badge level goes up, so does your weekly bonus.

You can think of badges less as a reward and more as a signal — the more active you are, the better the site gets at sending you surveys you'll actually qualify for, which is where the money comes from.

Is Web Perspectives legit?

Yes, Web Perspectives is legit. It's operated by Dynata, a global research firm based in Connecticut.

It boasts an average Trustpilot score of 3.9 stars out of 5, with around 80% of reviews giving them 4 or 5 stars. However, 10% of respondents gave them a 1-star review.

A common complaint in the negative reviews was that some users spent time answering screening questions only to find out they didn't qualify for the survey and wouldn't receive any rewards.

While frustrating, this is a fairly common issue across survey platforms.

Is my data secure?

In terms of data protection, Web Perspectives stands behind its users' privacy and pledges confidentiality and anonymity.

Their data policies are certified, as they're members of both the Marketing Research Association (MRA) and the Market Research Society (MRS).

Hello Sivakumar,

Thanks for reaching out!

You would need to reach out to your phone provider to determine if virtual or prepaid mastercards would be eligible for bill payments. Some companies have restrictions on this type of card payment.

Summer of 2023 they changed redemption. Now they want you to upload your face and driver's license (front and back) in order to redeem. I asked them to manually redeem for me. They refused and now I'm locked out of my account (no reason and no help from support). Bad company, avoid!

Some interesting surveys to fill out but admittedly not impressed with the access to rewards. Twice now, I've tried to redeem points for a VISA virtual card, and am always met with they are verifying my account which apparently takes 72 hours, and never happens. Shady at best, IMHO, as I am still unable to redeem on this site. Very difficult to find a live person to help with this issue as well. Their website "support" section is not much use either.
