A few notable changes are coming to the Scotia Momentum Visa family of cards on February 1, 2026. The best news – you'll be able to redeem your cash back on demand, instead of waiting for a statement credit every year in November. No one really likes having to wait to get their cash back once per year.
Some new earn rates are also coming, namely in the form of food delivery (along with some others, depending on the card). These are the cards that are eligible for some of these changes:
- Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite Card
- Scotia Momentum Visa Card
- Scotia Momentum No-Fee Visa Card
- Scotia Momentum for Business VISA card
The Scotiabank Momentum Mastercard Credit Card will not be seeing any of these changes.

Redeem cash back on demand with all Scotia Momentum cards
A big downside to Scotia Momentum credit cards has always been that you only get your rewards once per year in November. No picking and choosing the time that suits you.
But no more. Starting on February 1, 2026, once you've accumulated $25, you'll be able to cash out. Your funds can be sent to either a Scotiabank chequing account or applied as a statement credit.
New earn rates on purchases
There are a few new earn rates coming for all four cards. And these are all in addition to what the cards already offer.
For the Scotia Momentum Visa Infinite Card, you'll start earning 2% cash back on all food delivery.
With the Scotia Momentum Visa Card, you earn 2% cash back on food delivery, transit, and rideshares.
The Scotia Momentum No-Fee Visa Card will start earning you 1% cash back on food delivery, transit, and rideshares.
Finally, with the Scotia Momentum for Business VISA card, you'll earn bonus cash back on shipping and accounting services – 2% cash back.
Any downsides? Just one really – the Scotia Momentum Visa Card is getting an annual fee increase, from $39 to $49.
The Scotia Momentum No-Fee Visa Card will be getting a $15,000 annual limit on earning 1% cash back on all bonus categories, but if you're spending that much, you're probably best to upgrade your card anyway.

Your thoughts on Scotia's changes
The changes are pretty much all positive, except the new annual fee for the Scotia Momentum Visa Card.
