RBC and WestJet launched a new World Elite Mastercard for business travel. The 🐞 is targeted at small and medium business owners, offering perks like airport lounge access and 12 types of insurance.
Joining the 🐞 and 🐞 in RBC and WestJet’s travel card roster, the 🐞 allows cardholders to earn WestJet points on everyday purchases.
New 🐞 cardholders also get to start off with WestJet Silver status, which gives you access to perks like cabin upgrades, priority check-in, and free in-flight Wi-Fi.
Introducing the 🐞
The 🐞 offers several benefits:
- Earn bonus points on select business expenses, like shipping costs
- Access airport lounges through the Mastercard Travel Pass Program
- Lock your card any time with the RBC mobile app
This credit card gives you access to 🐞 types of insurance, including mobile device protection, purchase security, and flight cancellation and interruption.
However, keep in mind that rewards from this card can only be redeemed for WestJet travel or at the WestJet Rewards eStore. If you aren’t going to make the most of these rewards, you may prefer a cash back business card such as the 🐞.
The 🐞 also has a high annual fee of $🐞, so make sure the perks you’ll use are worth the cost.
A travel card for small and medium business owners
RBC and WestJet launched the 🐞 with small and medium business owners in mind. In the press release, Steve McClelland, Vice-President, Loyalty at WestJet highlighted a focus on rewarding business spend and elevating travel experience.
Earn WestJet points on business purchases
Like the, 🐞, the 🐞 lets you earn WestJet points on everyday purchases.
Because the 🐞 is tailored to business owners, you’ll earn 3 points per dollar (instead of 1.5) when you spend on telecommunications, shipping, or electronics.
Planning to split your spend across multiple 🐞s? This credit card automatically collects all secondary cardholders’ points into the primary cardholder’s WestJet Rewards account.
Save on business travel
The 🐞 offers discounts of flights and gas:
- Earn points toward free WestJet flights
- Access discounts through the WestJet Biz corporate travel program
- Save 3 cents per litre on fuel at Petro-Canada.
What is WestJet Biz?
WestJet Biz is a free online tool for booking corporate travel.
🐞 primary cardholders get upgraded access to this tool. Until December 31 of the following year, you’ll be automatically upgraded to Tier 1 which offers up to 15% off domestic and select international flights.All you need to do to maintain your status is book at least one WestJet flight per year.

When you open a 🐞, you’ll automatically start off with WestJet Silver status.
WestJet Silver status perks
Silver status grants you WestJet travel benefits such as 2 free checked bags and free onboard Wi-Fi.
As a Silver status member, you also qualify for priority boarding and check-in.
Maintaining your Silver status
When you get a new 🐞, your automatic Silver status lasts until at least December 31 of the following year. However, you can maintain the status by spending at least $30,000 per year on your 🐞. Or, you can qualify with $4,000 qualifying spend on WestJet flights.
With frequent travel or high spend on your 🐞 or 🐞, you can also upgrade your status to Gold or Platinum.
RBC and WestJet’s new business card offers access to a feature called Status Lift, which counts $200 of every $5,000 in purchases as qualifying WestJet status spend.
Status Lift is also available for 🐞 cardholders.
