The new Live Nation Canada and Marriott Bonvoy partnership
For Live Nation concerts in Canada, Marriott Bonvoy members will gain access to once-in-a-lifetime experiences through Marriott Bonvoy Moments.
These experiences only apply to Live Nation events in Canada and will include:
- meet and greets,
- VIP viewing,
- artist access,
- and more.
A big point to note: you can't pay for these packages with cash. You can only redeem Marriott Bonvoy points towards them. For some of the events we looked at, you have to make a bid as well.
As an example, you can currently get a package for the KISS tour in Manitoba, which includes soundcheck, Q&A, and merch. The bid starts at 60,000 points.
To see what kind of events are currently available, see Marriott Bonvoy Moment events in Canada.

Earn Marriott points everywhere with a Marriott Bonvoy credit card
If this interests you, you'll have to start earning Marriott Bonvoy points. And there are a few credit cards in Canada you can do that with, all issued by American Express.
Here are the quick details on 2 of them.
| Amex Credit Card | Welcome Bonus | Earn Rates | Annual Fee | Learn More |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card | 50,000 bonus points (terms) | * 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott properties * 2 points per $1 spent on all other purchases | $120 | Learn More |
| American Express Cobalt Card | * 5 points per $1 spent on eligible groceries and restaurants (up tp $2,500 spent per month) * 3 points per $1 spent on eligible streaming services * 2 points per $1 spent on eligible gas, transit, and ride share purchases * 1 point per $1 spent on foreign currency purchases * 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases | $99 | Learn More |
1. Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card
The Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card is an excellent credit card that not only earns Marriott points everywhere, but also comes with some sweet benefits at Marriott hotels.
Here's what you'll earn for points on your shopping:
- 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott properties
- 2 points per $1 spent on all other purchases
Based on a typical $2,000 monthly spend, that translates into 51,600 points per year.
But then there are the Marriott benefits. The biggest one is the annual free night certificate. On your card's anniversary (you don't get it in year 1), you'll get a free night certificate for a stay of up to 35,000 points. Find a room that needs that many points or fewer, and it's yours (it even covers the taxes and fees).
It also comes with Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status. This will get you benefits like bonus points on stays and access to late checkouts.
All this comes with a $120 annual fee.
There's also a business version you can check out in the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card.
2. American Express Cobalt Card
Let's start with the obvious – the American Express Cobalt Card is not a Marriott credit card. But one thing you can do with Amex Membership Rewards is transfer them to Marriott Bonvoy at a 5:6 ratio.
And as such, the American Express Cobalt Card is a super-earner when it comes to getting Marriott points. Here's what you'll earn for Membership Rewards on all your purchases:
- 5 points per $1 spent on eligible groceries and restaurants (up tp $2,500 spent per month)
- 3 points per $1 spent on eligible streaming services
- 2 points per $1 spent on eligible gas, transit, and ride share purchases
- 1 point per $1 spent on foreign currency purchases
- 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases
If you spend $2,000 per year, that becomes 54,000 Membership Rewards per year. Transferred to Marriott Bonvoy, they become 64,800 Marriott points. More points than the official card, but without the Marriott benefits.
This card has an annual fee of $191.88 that gets charged out as $15.99 per month.

There are other Membership Rewards cards you can take a look at. Here are your other options.
