A little change is on its way to the EQ Bank Card. Starting on April 6, 2026, cardholders will only get 5 free ATM reimbursements per month of up to $5.
For many, this probably won't be a big deal, as you’re more likely to use your card to pay for most purchases. Unless you want to take cash out more than 5 times per month, this change won’t affect you.
And it's still a better deal than most banks, where you have to pay when you withdraw cash from a foreign network.

EQ Bank Card changes
The EQ Bank Card currently ranks as Canada’s best prepaid credit card, and this won't change that.
Unless you're taking out cash more than once a week, EQ’s new ATM withdrawal limit won't have any impact on you.
Nothing else is changing – you'll still get 0.5% cash back on purchases, pay no foreign exchange fees, and get up to 3.3% interest on your balance.
