And the new welcome offer is eye opener.
First, you’ll earn 60,000 Marriott Bonvoy points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months – an increase of 10,000 points over the previous offer.
But there’s more. Spend $10,000 in the first year, and you’ll get a $120 statement credit. It essentially gives you the 2nd year free.
How many free nights are 60,000 points worth? Here’s a summary of how many free nights you could get for 60,000 points, based on standard redemption rates.

Intrigued? Here’s what this card has to offer.
First, here’s what you’ll earn for points on your purchases:
- 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott, and
- 2 points per $1 spent on all other purchases.
But what makes it one of our favourite cards? It’s the Marriott perks that come with it.
Here’s what you’ll get, just for keeping the card:
- annual free night certificate worth up to 35,000 points,
- automatic Silver Elite status, and
- 15 elite night credits.
The annual free night is the biggest one. Awarded every year on your card’s anniversary (you won’t get it in year one), you can use it towards any rewards point night that is worth 35,000 points or less.
This benefit alone more than pays for the annual fee of $120.
And since you’re (likely) going to get the 2nd year free, there’s no reason not to keep the card and use your free night.
Keeping this in mind, here’s what you could see for value from the card over 2 years, not counting the points you earn on purchases, and using our typical Marriott Bonvoy point value of 0.97 cents when redeemed for hotels.
| Item | Value |
|---|---|
| 60,000 welcome bonus points | $582 |
| $120 statement credit | $120 |
| Annual Free Night | $339 |
| Total | $1,041 |
That’s a lot of value for 2 years.
So if you’re in need of a staycation, this card can get you plenty of free nights over your first 2 years (and beyond).
