2. American Express Platinum Card
The super premium American Express Platinum Card has an updated welcome bonus. The number of points you earn haven’t changed, but you’ll get them sooner.
The old 80,000 point bonus:
- 60,000 points after spending $6,000 in the first 3 years, and
- 20,000 points after making a purchase between months 14 to 17.
To get 80,000 points now, you only need to spend $7,500 in the first 3 months.
And with those points comes a credit card with unparalleled perks and benefits. Here’s what you’ll earn for Membership Rewards on purchases:
- 3 points per $1 spent on restaurants,
- 2 points per $1 spent on travel, and
- 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases.
But those benefits though! Here’s a quick taste of what it offers:
- annual $200 travel credit,
- unlimited airport lounge access at over 1,300 lounges,
- automatic Marriott Bonvoy and Hilton Honors Gold status, and
- access to the International Airline program.

3. The Business Platinum Card from American Express
Finally, the The Business Platinum Card from American Express has an updated offer.
Before, you earned 80,000 bonus points after spending $7,000 in the first 3 months.
Now, you can earn 90,000 bonus points after spending $10,000 in the first 3 months. More points, but you also have to spend more to get them. This is worth $900 in statement credits that you could use to help scale your business.
As to what you’ll get, you’ll earn a simple 1.25 points for every $1 spent.
It too comes with a long list of benefits. It’s similar to what the American Express Platinum Card offers, except it doesn’t come with an annual travel credit.
The annual fee is $799.
