KOHO Credit Building available to everyone in Canada
In the past, if you lived in Saskatchewan, KOHO Credit Building wasn’t accessible to you.
But that restriction is gone, and now everyone in Canada has access to KOHO Credit Building.
If you’re looking for an easy way to improve your credit score, you’ve come to the right place.
What is KOHO Credit Building?
If you’re new to KOHO Credit Building, here’s what it offers.
First, to get access, you'll need to have a KOHO prepaid card. Once you have an account, you can register for KOHO Credit Building through the app.
KOHO will do a soft credit check, and essentially they open a small line of credit for 6 months.
There are 2 ways you can pay for the service. You can go monthly, where you need to ensure there is always $7 in your KOHO account. KOHO will take out $7 automatically, and report to one credit bureau that you’re making a payment.
You can also pay $42 up front, and not have to worry about making sure there is always $7 in your account.
After 6 months, you should start to see your score go up – they’ll provide you your credit score so you can see for yourself.
The only downside? They only report your progress to one of the major credit bureaus in Canada, not both.
Why does that matter? If you’re applying for future credit and the lender looks at the score you weren’t working on, they’ll see something lower.
But overall, it’s an easy, no-hassle way to get one of your credit scores improved.
Your turn
If you’re looking for a complete financial product, KOHO has what you’re looking for. It’s a card for spending, credit building strategies, and a few other tools to help manage your money better.
