Marriott Bonvoy American Express cards have some new, limited-time welcome bonus offers. You can now earn up to 80,000 points with the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card and up to 90,000 points with the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card. These are vast improvements over the previous offers.

New Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card welcome offer
The new welcome offer for the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card is a large improvement over the previous 50,000-point offer. Here's how you can earn your 80,000 bonus points:
- 65,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months
- Bonus 3 points per $1 spent on travel and gas for the first 6 months, up to 15,000 points
To get the full bonus, you must spend $5,000 on travel and gas purchases over the first 6 months.
In total, the points are worth up to $776 in free hotel nights at Marriott hotels.
Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card: What you get
The Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card is an excellent card when it comes to free hotel nights. Here's what it earns for rewards on all purchases:
- 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott properties
- 2 points per $1 spent on all other purchases
But it also offers some excellent Marriott perks – it is a Marriott-branded card, after all.
The biggest one: the annual free night certificate worth 35,000 points. Find any rewards night worth up to that amount and it's yours. This more than offsets the $120 annual fee.
It will also grant you automatic Marriott Bonvoy Silver Elite status and 15 Elite night credits per year. You can receive an upgrade to Gold if you spend $30,000 per year or pay for 10 nights at Marriott hotels.
New offer for the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card
The business version, the Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card, also used to offer 50,000 bonus points but has levelled that up, too. Now you can earn up to 90,000 points:
- 75,000 points after you spend $6,000 in the first 3 months
- Bonus 2 points per $1 spent on gas, restaurants, and travel for the first 6 months, up to 15,000 points
With this offer, you'll need to spend $7,500 across those 3 categories to get the full bonus. Put together, those 90,000 points can get you up to $873 in free nights.
Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card: What you get
The Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card is quite similar to the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card.
First, the Marriott benefits are the same. This card includes the free night certificate and automatic Silver Elite status. But the earn rates are slightly different, with one more bonus category:
- 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott properties
- 3 points per $1 spent on gas, dining, and travel
- 2 points per $1 spent on all other purchases
The annual fee for this card is slightly higher at $150.
