1. American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card

The American Express Aeroplan Reserve Card has a new offer, that while bigger, is also a little harder to earn.

Previously, you could get up to 85,000 bonus Aeroplan points by spending $1,000 a month for 6 months.

Now, you can earn up to 115,000 points as such:

  • 45,000 points after spending $6,000 in the first 3 months,
  • 7,500 points every month you spend $2,000 in each of the first 6 months (another 45,000 points), and
  • 25,000 points when you make 1 purchase between months 14 to 17.

A little harder to earn, but you’ll get more points, assuming you keep the card beyond year 1.

What does this card offer for a $599 annual fee? Here’s a quick list:

  • up to 3 points per $1 spent on purchases,
  • Maple Leaf lounge access,
  • priority check-in, boarding, and baggage handling, and
  • free first checked bags.

Those points can turn into a couple of free nights at Marriott hotels.
