Amex Shop Small – for Scotiabank Amex credit cards
Amex Shop Small is back, and for the time being, and at this time it’s only available to those who have an American Express credit card issued by Scotiabank.
What is the exact offer? You can get a $10 credit credit when you spend at least $30 with participating small businesses in Canada.
You can do this 5 times, to get a grand total of $50.
To register your Scotiabank Amex card, you’ll have to head to this site. Look for the Shop Small offer, and click “Register your Card”.
In the popup window, enter in your name and Amex card number, and you’re all set. Just note there’s a limit to the number of cards that can register for this – 10,000, so be sure to get your registration in quickly.
Now, if you have a card issued by Amex themselves, it won’t work. This site is only for those who have an Amex issued by others (ie. Scotiabank). You’ll be told to go to your dashboard to register for an Amex Offer, and you won’t find this one here if you have an Amex card.
Finding small businesses eligible for Shop Small
So, how do you find out what businesses are eligible for this offer?
Amex makes it easy for you. Amex has a map you can look at, that shows you all the businesses that accept Amex cards – you can view it here.
In the sidebar are business names – simply look for the “Shop Small” logo next to them, and your next purchase there will be eligible, as long as you spend more than $30.
Here’s an example of some listings in Calgary.

Which Amex cards are eligible? If it’s issued by Scotiabank, you should be able to access this offer.

If you want a no annual fee Amex, Scotiabank offers an excellent choice with the Scotiabank American Express Card.
It doesn’t offer much for benefits beyond what all Amex cards provides, but it does provide excellent rewards:

If you want plenty of excellent travel perks, Scotiabank offers the Scotiabank American Express Platinum Card. It keeps it simple when it comes to rewards – 2 Scene+ points per $1 spent on all purchases.
But here’s what you’ll get for travel perks:
- 10 free passes to Priority Pass and Plaza Premium lounges,
- No foreign exchange fees,
- 12 types of insurance, and
- Hertz #1 Club Gold membership.
Just note the annual fee for this card is $399.
