New RBC Avion Visa Infinite offer
The new RBC Avion Visa Infinite offer is stellar. Here's how you'll earn those 70,000 points:
- 35,000 points after your account is approved
- 20,000 points after spending $5,000 in the first 6 months
- 15,000 points after your 1-year anniversary
What can those points get you? The best value comes from the Avion Rewards flight chart. This chart can only be accessed by those holding an Avion Visa card.
How it works: You'll use a set amount of points, as seen in the chart. Those points cover the base airfare, up to a maximum amount, and you have to pay any taxes, fees, and airline surcharges. And it works on just about any airline, too.
It's enough points for a ticket to Europe or the Caribbean with some leftovers, or 2 round-trip flights within Canada and the Continental U.S. Your points are worth up to 2.33 cents, depending on your destination and how much of the base airfare allowance you use.
But there are more options. You can transfer them to a handful of airlines at varying ratios. WIth the exception of WestJet, only RBC Avon Visa cardholders can transfer to these airlines (anyone collecting Avion points with an RBC credit card can also transfer to WestJet).

You can also use your points to redeem for any travel purchases through Avion Rewards, and they're worth 1 cent each.
