Earn bonus points and Elite Night credits with Marriott Bonvoy
Marriott usually comes up with snappy names for their promotions, but not this time. But that doesn’t mean this isn’t a worthwhile promotion.
What is this promotion? For every paid night at a Marriott property, you’ll earn 1,000 bonus points and an extra Elite Night credit.
To register for this promo, you’ll need to head to this Marriott Bonvoy page and register your Marriott account. Registration is available until April 9, 2023.
Once registered, you’ll earn your bonus rewards and Elite Night credits for stays from February 7 to April 23, 2023.
Already booked a stay? We can’t say for certain, but nothing in the terms says you had to make your booking after registering. Most of the time, there is no date range attached to when you had to make your booking, just a date saying when they have to be booked by.
Our opinion is that as long as you register before your stay, you should get your bonus (however, we could be wrong).
And with this promo, you’ll be close to advanced Marriott status and pocket some bonus points on your way.
There are a few exceptions. You won’t earn any points or Elite Night credits on stays paid for with points or cash and points. It has to be paid in full with cash.
There are also a handful of Marriott properties that aren’t eligible for this promotion. They are:
- Homes & Villas by Marriott Bonvoy,
- Marriott Executive Apartments,
- owner-occupied weeks at Marriott Vacation Club,
- Marriott Grand Residence Club,
- Sheraton Vacation Club,
- Westin Vacation Club,
- The Ritz-Carlton Club,
- St. Regis Residence Club, and
- Luxury Collection Residence Club.
Lastly, any stays booked through 3rd party sites aren’t eligible. This is standard as one rule with just about all hotel loyalty programs – you give up earning their rewards when you don’t book directly with the hotel chain.

Increase your Marriott Bonvoy status with the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card
There’s an excellent way to earn even more points on Marriott stays and increase your elite status with the Marriott Bonvoy American Express Card.
One of the major benefits of having the card is it gives you 15 Elite Night credits every year you have the card. That gives you automatic Silver Elite status.
Stay another 10 nights, and you’ve got Gold Elite status. Normally, you would need 10 paid nights to get Gold. With this promo, that’s reduced to 5 nights.
We have this credit card in our household. And, we have a 7 night stay coming up soon at a Marriott, meaning we’ll be enjoying Gold Elite for most of this year as well as next.

To top it all off, when you pay with your Marriott Amex you’ll be earning 5 points per $1 spent at Marriott hotels worldwide (2 points per $1 spent everywhere else).
And we haven’t even mentioned the card’s best perk – the annual free night certificate. Every year on your card’s anniversary (you don’t get this in the first year, unfortunately), you’ll get a free night certificate worth up to 35,000 points. Simply find a night worth that amount or less, and the room is free.
That alone more than pays for the $120 annual fee.
Finally, there’s the superb welcome bonus – earn 50,000 bonus points after spending $1,500 in the first 3 months.
Simply put, Marriott and Amex have created an excellent credit card for free hotel nights and benefits.
