How much do you have to use your card to get access to these offers, I have a platinum that is used very little and I receive few offers, just got one for my wife and we are using to get the bonus and have received several, how does it work for spending to get these offers? anyone know? I have better point value cards

Hey Bryan, It can take a little while for offers to start appearing on a new card – could be a few months or more.

I have a platinum business and am interested in a personal card as well. The business one is a no brainer for me but the personal I’m having trouble making the case (some perks are redundant). My personal monthly card spend is sufficient but that does not take into account the we don’t accept Amex issue. I would love to see a more extensive list of current and previous amex offers for the platinum and even the gold personal amex Card (I understand not everyone gets them all).

Hey Matthew, Though we don't keep a historical list of all Amex Offers that have been available, you can see a few noteworthy ones over the last year here: https://creditcardgenius.ca/blog/amex-platinum-card-experience#offers WayBack machine has a few older scans of this page you can also take a look at here. Hope this helps!

Clicking on 10% cash back on all purchases" above brings up "BMO CashBack® World Elite®* Mastercard. Reading the small print, paragraph 5, it is not all purchases. It is broken down to some on groceries, some on gas, some on transportation etc. NO THANKS.

"Hey Dave, Every $1 you spend is eligible for the 10% back welcome bonus, but there's a cap for each category. How it works is you get a certain amount of bonus cash back in each category so that it's equal to 10%. For example, you'll get your usual 5% cash back on groceries PLUS a bonus 5% cash back, up to the cap on groceries. And the same thing happens for transit: you'll get the normal 4% cash back PLUS a bonus 6% cash back, up to the cap on transit. And so on for the rest of the categories.

The AIR MILES Reserve card offers significant travel perks, which is likely worth its high annual fee of $299 depending on how you use it for your travel. You can also read our review here: https://creditcardgenius.ca/credit-cards/american-express-air-miles-reserve Without knowing full details, it may be better to stick with your BMO AIR MILES card as it has an overall better earn rate and still provides discounts on flights. If you still need it, you could get a backup card, with a lower annual fee if you're looking to save money on fees.

I have had an American Express platinum and cobalt card for over a year now and have never received any offers. I have called American Express about it a few times and I am signed up for all promotions and offers and still don't receive anything. Has this happened to anyone else and how did you fix it?

"Hello, It appears as though the maximum number of cards that can register for the offer has been reached, which is likely why you can't register for it. We've removed this offer from our list. Thanks for commenting!

Can't find the Marriott offer in my list of AmEx offers. Is it because the maximum number of card holders has been filled or due to that I have a Marriott-branded card (they don't want me double dipping at the same partner)?

It appears as though the maximum number of cards able to register has been reached. We checked with 2 different accounts, including a Marriott Bonvoy Amex when we first posted the offer and it was initially availble to both accounts. We've removed it from our list, thanks for sharing!
