First, there's the bonus BMO Rewards points you'll earn. The standard offer is up to 70,000 points, but this exclusive offer bumps that up to 80,000. Here’s how you earn your points:
- 40,000 points after spending $4,000 in the first 110 days
- 20,000 points after spending $7,000 in the first 180 days
- 20,000 points when you spend $12,000 in the first year.
Redeem your points for any travel or convert them into deposits in BMO investment accounts, and they're worth $536.
On top of all those points, this offer gives you unique credits for streaming services. You can get up to $20 per month back on streaming services you charge to your card in the first year (up to $240 total).
There's only 1 requirement: You have to spend at least $500 in total purchases on the card to get the credit. That $500 can be for anything.
And, of course, you'll only get the full $20 if you spend at least that on streaming.
There are 3 basic merchant category codes (MCC) that qualify:
- MCC 4899 – cable and other pay television services
- MCC 5815 – digital goods media

What the BMO eclipse Visa Infinite Card offers

On your day-to-day purchases, here is what you'll earn:
- 5 points per $1 spent on dining, groceries, gas, and transit
- 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases
Just note there is a $6,000 annual spend limit on both groceries and dining.
BMO Rewards are best used for 2 things – travel and deposits into various BMO investment accounts (savings accounts qualify).
For travel, there's no special booking site you need to go to. Simply find any travel deal and charge it to your card. Then you use your points afterwards to pay for it.
Both options give your points a value of 0.67 cents each, giving the card a max return of 3.35%.
There are 2 other special goodies with this card:
- Every year you have the card (including the first year), you get a $50 statement credit which automatically gets applied to your first purchase greater than that.
- If you add an authorized user (which costs $50), you'll get 10% bonus points on all your purchases.
