How Air Canada Embarq works

Using the Air Canada Embarq platform is easy. Businesses enrol in Embarq, then employees book their travel directly through aircanada.com.

When travellers use their Aeroplan account and select Business travel during booking, their eligible trips are automatically recognized and attributed to the company.

Then, the company can access the trip details in the central dashboard of their Embarq account. The dashboard includes built-in reporting, so managers can get a clearer picture of company travel without setting up a fully managed travel program.

Earn 50% more Aeroplan points on business travel

The most interesting perk for travellers is the Aeroplan bonus.

Eligible employees can earn 50% more Aeroplan points on qualifying business-related flights. Employees earn through their own Aeroplan accounts, so the extra points go to the traveller rather than the company.

That makes Embarq more than just an admin tool. It gives employees a direct incentive to make sure eligible business trips are booked and tracked through the program.

What businesses get from Air Canada Embarq

Along with centralized trip tracking and reporting, businesses get access to cost savings and a dedicated Air Canada for Business support team.

There's also no minimum travel spend, so smaller companies don't need to hit a large annual threshold before the platform becomes useful.

This could make Embarq particularly appealing to growing businesses that travel regularly but don't need the cost or complexity of a traditional corporate travel-management setup.

Canada's best Aeroplan business credit cards

Every year, we rank Canada's best business credit cards using our data-driven Genius Rating algorithm.

In 2026, the bronze prize went to the CIBC Aeroplan Visa Business Card. In addition to earning 2 Aeroplan points per $1 spent on Air Canada travel, this card gets you free checked bags and 4 complimentary Maple Leaf Lounge passes.

If you're looking for an Aeroplan business credit card, your other options include the American Express Aeroplan Business Reserve Card and TD Aeroplan Visa Business Card.
