After receiving many extraordinary applications to our 2025 creditcardGenius scholarship, our team took the time to review every single one.

Each story was unique and incredible, but we had to pick just one recipient. Now, we’re excited to share our decision.

The 2025 scholarship recipient: Marley MacDonald

We are happy to announce that Marley MacDonald is the recipient of our 2025 creditcardGenius scholarship of $2,000. Congratulations, Marley!

Marley is a second-year student at Vancouver Island University and pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, with a minor in Marketing. His goal is to become a Clinical Psychologist, so he can help others by providing therapy and conducting research.

Marley’s application demonstrated his creativity, entrepreneurial spirit, and dedication to helping others. At age eleven, he turned his experience caring for his siblings and pets into a successful business that offered babysitting, dog walking, and lawn care. He believes in budgeting every dollar he earns using a formula of saving, spending, investing, and giving back.

Why does creditcardGenius have a scholarship?

creditcardGenius’s mission is to help Canadians find the products that best suit their financial needs – to be able to better manage their finances and keep more money in their wallets.

Our scholarship is an extension of that. It's a way that we can offer support for tuition costs to help someone move forward on their path to a better financial future.
