How much your rewards are worth

Top cards from Mastercard

Rogers Mastercard review
Have a Rogers service of some kind? The Rogers Red Mastercard should be at the top of your list when it comes to getting a credit card.
Even if you aren't, it's still one of the best no annual fee credit cards on the market.
Here's what it has to offer.
Earning cash back with the Rogers Red Mastercard
The Rogers Red Mastercard earns cash back on purchases. Here's what you'll earn:
- Earn 2% unlimited cash back on all eligible non-U.S. dollar purchases if you have 1 qualifying service with Rogers, Fido, Comwave, or Shaw
- Earn 1% unlimited cash back on eligible non-U.S. dollar purchases
- Earn 2% unlimited cash back on all eligible purchases made in U.S. dollars
Among no fee cash back cards, you won't be able to find much better. Earning 1% unlimited cash back on all eligible purchases with a bonus on something else, which in this case is purchases in U.S. dollars, is a winning combination.
That's what everyone earns. However, if you have a Rogers service of some kind, you'll get 2% unlimited cash back on all eligible non-U.S. dollar purchases.
Eligible services include:
- Postpaid Rogers or Fido mobile plans (including wireless home phone and tablet data plans)
- Rogers, Shaw, Comwave, or Fido internet, TV, and home phone services
- Rogers home monitoring
- Rogers or Shaw satellite plans
Note that corporate, business plans, and co-branded plans are not included that corporate/business plans are not included.
That will make for the best no annual fee credit card you can get, if you can qualify.
3 benefits of the Rogers Red Mastercard
There's more to this card than just the high cash back rates. Here are 3 other benefits.
1. Redeem cash back at any time
It's easy to redeem your cash back. Once you have $10 cash back accumulated, you can redeem it towards any purchase of your choosing.
Much better than other cards that only let you get a statement credit once per year.
2. 50% bonus on Rogers redemptions
There's an easy way to stretch out the cash back you earn. If you use your cash back towards Rogers purchases, including paying your wireless or home services bill, you'll get a 50% bonus on your cash back value.
Essentially what it does is it increases your earn rates to up to 3%, putting it in the stratosphere of credit card rewards.
You still have to redeem at least $10 of cash back, but it's an easy way to not only help pay for a basic essential, but get more value from your rewards.
3. 5 Roam Like Home days every year
For Rogers Wireless customers, you'll get 5 Roam Like Home days at no cost every year for Rogers mobile plans (up to $90 value). That will save you on fees if you want to use your phone internationally – 185 different countries are supported.
These cost $16 per day if you're in the U.S., and $18 in other countries, making those 5 free days worth up to $90. It makes for easy savings while you travel.
Please note these are not available to Fido customers.
2 things to think about with the Rogers Red Mastercard
The Rogers Red Mastercard isn't perfect and might not be for everyone. Here are 2 things to consider before applying.
1. The best deal not available to everyone
Earning 2% back on everything sounds amazing. But you need to have a Rogers service of some kind.
Most Canadians can get access to Rogers Wireless service. But Rogers home services? That's a different story.
Thankfully, almost everyone in Canada can get in on this deal, as almost anyone can get a Rogers or Fido cell phone plan.
2. No insurance included
If you want some credit card insurance, you won't find any here. Even the basics of extended warranty and purchase protection are absent.
Comparison to the Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard
Rogers offers a few different Mastercards. Here's how it stacks up to the Rogers Red World Elite Mastercard, the premium Mastercard offering from Rogers.

| Special Features | * 2% cash back on all purchases if you have an eligible Rogers mobile or home service * 5 Roam Like Home days at no cost every year for Rogers mobile plans (up to $90 value) * 50% bonus rewards if you use your rewards to pay your Rogers bill | * World Elite Mastercard benefits * Mastercard Travel Pass membership (no free passes) * 2% cash back on all purchases if you have an eligible Rogers mobile or home service * 5 Roam Like Home days at no cost every year for Rogers mobile plans (up to $90 value) * 50% bonus rewards if you use your rewards to pay your Rogers bill |
| Insurance Included | None | 6 types |
| Annual Fee | $0 | $0 |
| Income Requirements | None | * $80,000 personal * $150,000 household |
Let's start with the income requirements. If you don't meet the $80K personal or $150K household income requirements, you won't be eligible for the World Elite Mastercard.
Beyond that, it all boils down to whether or not you have a Rogers service. The World Elite card has higher earn rates overall, and those are available to everyone.
If you have some kind of Rogers service, these are basically the same card. The only difference is the World Elite version includes some credit card insurance.

I don't recommend this bank to anyone. There are scammers who constantly ask for the cv code of your card every time you call. The day disappears from the card. Payments are processed for a very long time. Rogers community credits money to the account the next day. Rogers bank first uses your money, and then credits it to the account. And now the most interesting thing is that if you submit for reissue of the card in connection with the loss, they are again sent a card with the same number, expiration date and cv code. If you decide to call and talk to an agent, the agent starts asking questions and wondering where you spend the money. That is, Rogers bank refuses to reissue a card with a different cv code, as this way they will not be able to steal money from your card. Rogers bank does not have personal data protection. At the moment, a complaint has been sent to the Ombudsman for Banking Services and Investments, as well as the Fanancial Consumer Agency of Canada.
Horrible customer service these guys are worse than visa. They don’t dispute charges or willing to go after extortionists they are not aggressive with merchants I
Have been with them for a few months I haven’t seen any chase back but I hate the flexibility or lack thereof and I know I’ll be canceling soon. Get MBNA or American Express this card simply sucks!
Surcharges and excuses for not giving your money back. They even maneuvered to split the money ,wrongly charged, and get over with. Refused, of course, left high and dry for two months asking for my money calling them over and over.
Rewards are good if you have Rogers cell phone or internet. Customer service management is atrocious! Have a problem expect to spend hours on the phone with them going in circles wasting valuable time and income! Customer service management can't do basic math and mess up the rewards!!! Truly pathetic customer service!
Awful customer service - especially in the fraud and security department. Just lazy and/or incompetent individuals. CUSTOMERS CERTAINLY DON'T COME FIRST WITH THESE GUYS! They keep you on the phone for 20-30 minutes asking stupid questions that any scammers can answer. I got hung up once from one indivual. In the end NOTHING was resolved. Ended up having to use another card to make an online purchase. Worse customer service from credit card company from personal experience. Also doesn't help dealing with all 3 individuals on different occasions.
