Unfortunately, the Disney credit card isn't available in Canada at this time, though some Canadians can apply if they meet a few critical requirements.

However, a Disney card is out of reach for many Canadians. Luckily, there are several excellent Canadian credit cards that offer perks and can make your vacation more rewarding. In most cases, you'll earn better rewards or get better coverage than with the official Disney card.

Here, we've highlighted a few of our favourite credit cards to use on your next trip to The Happiest Place on Earth.

Key Takeaways

  • Disney partners with Chase to offer two Disney cards, including one no-fee option and one premium card with higher rewards.
  • Disney credit cards earn Disney Rewards you can redeem at various Disney-owned retailers, businesses, etc...
  • To apply for a Disney credit card, you need an American address, Social Security Number, and bank account.

Is the Disney credit card available in Canada?

Unfortunately, Canadians can't apply for the Disney credit cards. Since these cards are issued by Chase, an institution that only provides cards to American customers, Disney cards aren't available in Canada.

There is a workaround that a few Canadians can make work, which is explained below. Generally, though, it's best to consider a different credit card for your vacation.

How to get Disney cards as a Canadian

It's tricky, but it is possible for Canadians to get American-issued credit cards, including the Disney credit card.

To do so, follow these steps:

  1. Have an American mailing address. U.S. credit card companies won't let you complete an application if your address isn't in the U.S.
  2. Have an American Social Security Number (SSN). Most banks and card issuers, including Chase, require a SSN in order to pull your credit score. If you don't have one, you won't be able to proceed with the application.
  3. Have a U.S. bank account. You'll need a U.S. bank account in order to pay your credit card bill, and you must be able to make the payments in USD, not CAD.

As you can probably guess, it may not be worth the hassle unless you already happen to have most of these things.

How good are the U.S. Disney credit cards?

While most Canadians won't be able to get a Disney credit card or any other American card, it's always interesting to see what credit cards in other countries have to offer.
