This is a terrible card!! My partner had the card for travel to the U.S. and got me a secondary card. He forgot his pin while traveling and could not use the card unless the business was able to bypass it. I couldn't use mine at all. This was after several attempts with Scotia costumer service. Thank God we had an alternative visa card. We always pay our bills before interest accumulates and have and trouble with every statement understanding what is exactly due before interest accumulates. Card was canceled after 3 months of very frustrating purchases and customer service and even the future last statement has interest charges without even using it and making full payment!!! The money we thought we saved on exchange rates, was paid in annual rate and interest (we didn't realize wasn't paid at each end if statement).
Scotiabank does not waive fees in second or subsequent years
It's a great card for purchases but you'll never see any refunds hit the card. We have been waiting almost 60 days for a refund that was processed on November 19, 2020 by a U.S. merchant. The refund is in excess of $900 USD. No one will help, not even the President's office. Go with another card!
Well I am disputing a charge on the card I called the bank and they said the wait is two hours, it been about 25 minutes so far.
This is my experience and in my mind makes the purchase protection pretty much useless.
I just got this card and have been with Scotia for several years for much of our banking... I just wanted to point out that if you are already a customer and have a Scotia Momentum Infinity Visa the 35$ usd annual fee will be waved. It’s one of the benefits of the Infinite cards. So you two cards and no annual fee.
