Our review
There are a few reasons why a low rate credit card would come in handy:
- if you tend to carry a balance on your credit card,
- if you're tired of paying steep interest fees on pre-existing credit card debt, or
- you find yourself using your credit card for cash advances.
If this is the case for you, the RBC Low Rate Option Visa Classic might be a good card to consider.
This card gives you an interest rate of only 12.99% on all purchases, cash advances, and balance transfers, potentially helping you save hundreds.

I am disappointed in this RBC Visa Classic card to date.I have always paid off my bill monthly. Two months ago, I am glad that I double checked the numbers on my card since my payment has not gone through. I was shocked that the payment was sent to an OLD visa card (20 years) that is not even active anymore. (so that money was just sitting there).
Last month I paid off the bill in full, today it's showing that I have been charged more???? I have not spent a dime since the last payment. I am not sure what is going on with my Visa. I have always been an outstanding customer with RBC. I feel that someone is using my card for their own pleasure and I am paying their bill. How can I get to the bottom of this???? Pay off and cancel that card for good?????
1.9% cash advance for 10 month intro. Fabulous card from RBC.
This card is all we really need. It's a low rate card where I can earn points that I convert into RBC cash to make extra payments on my visa. I definitely earn more than I spend on the annual fee.
Low interest is great for people that have a lot to pay off, for example.
The downside is that there aren't any reward incentives with these cards.
1st of all my reason for this card is, there is no tap and go feature on mine. With my previous card on two occasions with my debit card (no Tap and Go) inserted in the debit machine, the machine read and debited my visa card which was in my wallet approx. 1 foot from the debit machine. With much frustration and being told this was impossible by Visa I was finally was able to get this card, with an annual fee of 20 dollars which is waived. The card is good for emergencies and small required purchase. It is a good emergency card.
for me this card primarily had no tap and go, bonus is the low interest rate. I rarely keep a balance on it which is now in the 300 dollar range.
