50,000 Aeroplan points are up for grabs – and here’s how to get them:
- 10,000 points after making your first purchase
- 15,000 more points once you’ve spent $7,500 in the first 6 months ($1,250 per month)
- 25,000 more points once you spend $12,000 over the first year ($1,200 per month)
To top it off, the annual fee for the first year is rebated for an additional $139 in savings.
So, what are these points worth? We value 50,000 Aeroplan points as $1,000 in flights on Air Canada. Of course, flight reward value can vary and what you get will depend on your booking. But generally speaking, Aeroplan provides very good value when it comes to reward flights (not so much for anything else you can use your points for).
What the TD Aeroplan Visa Infinite Card offers
This is the most advertised Aeroplan credit card you'll see. In terms of rewards, you’ll earn:
- 1.5 points per $1 spent on gas, groceries, and Air Canada
- 1 point per $1 spent on all other purchases
Spend $2,000 per month on the card and you can earn in the neighborhood of 27,900 Aeroplan points per year.
As a cardholder, you'll also get a few Air Canada benefits:
- Free first checked bag for up to 8 people travelling on the same reservation
- Preferred pricing for discounts on Aeroplan reward flights
- 1,000 Elite miles for every $10,000 spent annually
