If you travel often and want a luxury credit card that covers it all ounge access, insurance, no FX fees, and travel credits the Scotiabank Passport Visa Infinite Privilege might be the card for you. Here's my hands on review based on its benefits, real-world use, and a few pain points worth knowing.
The no foreign transaction fees is the biggest draw here. Most Canadian cards charge ~2.5% extra on foreign currency purchases, which adds up quickly. With this card, I get charged the standard Visa exchange rate—no markup. Just make sure to always pay in the local currency when traveling.
On top of that, you get 10 complimentary airport lounge visits per year via DragonPass (Visa Airport Companion). That’s more than most cards in Canada, and it’s come in handy on long layovers.
The card also comes with a $250 annual Scene+ Travel credit, which is easy to use when booking flights or hotels through their travel portal. It’s automatic and essentially offsets part of the hefty annual fee.
You get 10 free lounge passes not 6 passes as indicated on this page
