Our review
The Marriott Bonvoy Business American Express Card may be one of the best travel business credit cards in Canada.
With points being earned towards Marriott Bonvoy, you’ll have the ability to turn your business purchases into not only free hotel stays, but also flights from over 40 airline partners.
What you can redeem your points for
There are several ways to redeem your points.
The first is for free nights at any Marriott hotel. Some of the brands include:
- Marriott
- Sheraton
- Ritz-Carlton
- Renaissance
- Delta
- Westin
- W Hotel
- Four Points by Sheraton
- Residence Inn.
With more than 7,000 properties worldwide, it shouldn’t be too hard to find a place to use your points.
You can also transfer your points to more than 40 airline partners, most of them at a ratio of 3:1.
As an added bonus, for every 60,000 points you transfer, Marriott will give you an extra 15,000 points.
As an example, if you transfer to Aeroplan including this bonus you would get a total of 25,000 miles, enough for a round-trip flight within Canada and the continental United States. With an Aeroplan point value of 2.5 cents, this is the best way to maximize the value of your points.

I got this card in January, unaware that Marriott Bonvoy had drastically changed the value of points since 2020. So the 70k Welcome bonus which previously would have earned four nights at a hotel now might get us one night. As points for free nights was my reason for getting this card, I’ll be cancelling it and finding a better deal.
