Some merchants may (i) sell groceries or grocery items; (ii) provide restaurant service or sell fast food; or (iii) have separate merchants located on their premises that also sell groceries or grocery items, or provide restaurant service or sell fast food; but may not be classified with a grocery, restaurant or fast food MCC and such Purchases will not earn the Grocery Rebate or Restaurant Rebate, as applicable. If you have questions about the MCC that applies to a Purchase, contact TD at 1-800-983-8472. Other Conditions: Offer may be changed, withdrawn or extended at any time and cannot be combined with any other offer.

Our Review

The TD Rewards Visa* Card is a credit card with no annual fee, a great welcome bonus, valuable purchase insurance, and it allows cardholders to earn flexible rewards on all their purchases.

Earning TD Rewards points

To start you off, and for a limited time, new cardholders will receive 5,000 bonus points when you keep your account open, active, and in good standing for 90 days. (Must apply by September 3, 2019.)

When it comes to the rewards you'll be earning on your purchases, the TD Rewards Visa* Card will give you:

  • 3 points for every dollar spent on travel booked through ExpediaForTD.com,
  • 2 points for every dollar spent at grocery stores, restaurants, and on recurring bills (up to $5,000 spent per category annually), and
  • 1 point for every other dollar spent.

These valuable rewards can be used for a number of different things.

Redeeming TD Rewards points

With Shop The Mall, you'll be able to shop online through TDRewards.com where you can use your rewards to pay for purchases at participating online retailers, like:

  • Apple,
  • Gap,
  • Indigo,
  • Roots,
  • Sport Chek, and
  • Walmart.

Or you can use the TD Rewards Catalogue, and purchase gift cards or brand name merchandise.

It doesn't end there, though. Not only can you redeem your points for travel that is booked online through ExpediaForTD.com, but you can use your points for any travel purchase you make on your card, including taxes, golf fees, and resort excursions – the possibilities are pretty endless.

You'll even be able to redeem your rewards to help pay down your student loan debt or tuition – a unique perk.

That being said, you'll get the best value when you redeem through Expedia For TD – 200 points = $1 at ExpediaForTD.com. And, you can use as many or as few points as you want (with a minimum 200 point redemption).

Plus, all the extras

Rewards aren't the only thing this card has going for it.

For no extra cost, you'll be given 90 days of purchase protection and up to 1 additional year of extended warranty insurance coverage, allowing you to shop with peace of mind.

And you'll get some pretty great discounts as well.

All cardholders can enjoy an annual discount on a Priority Pass membership, as well as discounts off the lowest available base rates on car rentals at AVIS and Budget car rentals – 10% in Canada and the U.S., and 5% internationally.

Not quite what you were looking for?

If you're looking for a TD Rewards card that will earn you more points but still has no income requirements, the could be the card for you. It has an annual fee of $89 for the primary cardholder ($35 for authorized users), but you'll earn more points, get better insurance, and you don't need a high income to apply.

Or maybe you simply want the best TD Rewards card? If so, the is the card you want. It has an annual fee of $120 for the primary cardholder ($50 for authorized users), and you'll need a personal income of $60,000 or a household income of $100,000 to qualify. But with this card in your wallet, you'll earn major TD Rewards points fast.

What are your thoughts?

The creditcardGenius algorithm calculates an estimated dollar value for all rewards and bonuses by using a typical point value a person can realistically achieve by redeeming their rewards in a reasonably optimized way. The "Welcome Bonus" is the dollar value obtained by combining all one-time bonuses available to new cardholders within the first year. To qualify for the full bonus you may need to make purchases, meet minimum spending requirements, or complete special actions. Terms and conditions apply.
